..Generic Strategies..

I have finished chapter five of strategic management and operation class a few days ago.
before i'm deep lets see the definition of the generic strategic first.

Generic Strategic according to business dictionary 
is
 basic approaches to strategic planning that can be adopted by any firm
 in any market or industry 
to improve its competitive performance.

In my opinion, IKEA using broad differentiation strategy. why ? it is because of IKEA have the ability to offer buyers something attractively different from their competitor for instance, 

At IKEA, there are are many wide selection of choice in many categories such as living room, bedroom, kitchen, children,textile and also business.  
In addition the customer or shopper also can design them-selves the furniture they want and they are afford to paid it. This service attract many customer because every people have different of taste.

Evaluating a company's resources, capabilities, and competitiveness

BISMILLAH

now lets proceed to the fourth chapter ! wow.. three chapters in a day !..hehe..

the first question that have been ask to us by Dr.Ummi in the class was
 " what is resources ? "
in my opinion resources is a material or thing that not have been process yet 
for example wood,paddy and so on. 

in this chapter also touch on the VRIN test for sustainable advantage, which is VRIN stand for 
Valuable
Rare
Inimitable
Non-subsuitable
for example if the product is hard to copy which is inimitable, 
unique which is rare
 and 
do not have substitute of it
 then the product is 
VALUABLE.

the other test to way to evaluating a company's resources,capabilities and competitiveness is using 
SWOT analysis. 
swot analysis is we list all their strength ,weaknesses, opportunity and threat and analysis all of them and find what is the problem and create new strategy.

i'm proud to tell that i'm one of the crew of the ICEPS9.. if you have healthy eye then you can find me in the above picture,,,hehe..what a happy ending! although there is problem but it is usually happen when the big event held.

there is many activities that have been organize to attract people to came to the iceps9.. one of the biggest event in the iceps9 is Malam Cinta Rasul 


some people said that on that night there is 10,000 people came and other also said that more ..if i'm not mistaken 15,000 but see this

this is the third chapter in the strategic management and operation.
this chapter is discuss on fourth point
1.  pestel analysis
2.   five forces model
3.  strategic group mapping
4.  key success factors (KSF)

what is PESTEL ANALYSIS ?
pestel analysis will be analysis based on six factors 
which are :
Political factors
Economic conditions
Sociocultural forces
Technological factors
Environmental factors
Legal conditions

now lets go to the FIVE FORCES MODEL 
STRATEGIC GROUP MAPPING is a way to know which organization is the most close competitor of the company by using this circle 

next is KSF or key success factors are all the element needed by the organization to make sure their organization are essential to survive and thrive in the industry for instance the capabilities of the manager, the product , the way of the organization marketing and so on.

the business VISION & MISSION

BISMILLAH 

this chapter was continue after the first chapter in the second week 
but i'm just do not have time to open the laptop to continue posting..huhu..iceps2 ~huhu.. 
but today..
.in shaa Allah i will post three chapter that i have learn until fourth week.


WHAT DO WE WANT TO BECOME ??
this is the question that must be ask to create a vision
for example if you want to fly like bird on the sky you must start for now learn and enter pilot collage i think, with that you will be fly on the sky like bird.
BUT,
for the company, company must set a short sentence what will be the organization become in the future. 
for example 
" become the first gadget choice in the world"

WHAT IS OUR BUSINESS ??
this question must must be ask to a create a mission of the organization.
this mission statement will show what the organization is to the people.
 more over, with the mission also the managers and workers have the guideline to know which part the organization what to reach.
